About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements living off government welfare...

 

" Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency & apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase. Junior Senator Barack Obama has the perfect tax plan. It will only make the rich pay more. The 1 in 20 of us who make more money than their fair share. He will raise the taxes of the greedy bosses. Thats good, those bosses need to be punished for creating businesses where we can work. Besides, they are always willing to take a cut in their take home pay.

Senator Obama will give 95% of the working class a tax cut. The upper 5% will be get a tax raise to "spread the wealth". One out of every twenty Americans will pay more taxes, if they make more than $250,000. They can afford it. The bosses will do what they always do when faced with an effective increase in their costs of 8.3%.

They will either raise the costs of the items they make or sell in their business. Enough to cover their sudden increase in doing business. This will be fine, the customers will just have to pay the increase, the 20 out of 20 Americans who are customers can afford it.

Or they can just hold off on any raise for their employees. They can recover the 8.3% easily by just not giving their employees any extra money for awhile. Hey, if they work for a rich person making more than $250,000, they can share the responsibility.

Another way that fat cat boss can be forced to come up with that extra money, he can fire 8.3% of his workers. That will teach that rich sucker to work harder than the rest of America and make more money.

I am sure the 1 in 20 Americans who will have to pay more taxes will be able to afford it. There are a lot of ways for them to come up with that money and it won't "punish their success" a bit.

A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam. Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month — a $2300 donation to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. The Larman’s say they don’t want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they’re not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook. They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud. “(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this,” said Steve Larman. “It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations.” The Larman’s don’t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans. “They (Chase) kept on asking me ‘are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama’,” said Rachel Larman. “And I repeatedly said ‘Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site’.” Chase dropped the charge from the Larman’s card. The couple is thankful thay they caught the charge on the card, but worried that others may not see that type of fraud on their own credit cards before it’s too late.

Sarah and Todd Palin made $127,869.00 in 2006, and paid taxes of $11,944.00. Payments to Charity where $4,250.00.  Charity of 3.3%.

In 2007, the Palins made $166,080.00 and paid taxes totaling $24,738.00. Reported Charity donations where $2,500.00. 1.5% to charity.

John McCain had 2006 earnings of $215,304.00 and paid taxes of $72,771.00. Charitable contributions where $64,695.00. 30.0% to charity.

McCain's 2007 income was $258,800.00 and paid $84,460 in taxes. Contributions to charity where $105,467.00. 40.8% to charity.

Joe Bidens' 2006 income was $248,459.00 with taxes of $42,832.00. His payments to charity equaled $380.00. 0.15% for charity.

The 2007 earnings of Joe Biden where $319,853.00 and paid taxes of $66,273.00. Charity received $995.00. 0.3% towards charity.

Barack and Michelle Obama earned 2006 income of $983,826.00 and paid taxes of $277,481.00. Charitable deductions amounted to $60,307.00. 6.1% for the less fortunate.

The Obama's had 2007 earnings of $4,238,165.00 and paid taxes of $1,396,772.00. Charity received $240,370.00. 5.7% for charity.

The donations of Barack Obama went to various organizations. Among the recipients where Trinity United Church of Christ $22,500.00.

Barack Obama has a half brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama. He is 25 years old and lives in a six by nine foot hut near Nairobi, Kenya. He is learning to become a mechanic and is active in Huruma youth groups. His income is reportedly around $12.00 per year. Barack visited him in 2006. When asked about his relations to Barack by the people he meets, "If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related; I am ashamed," he told the Italian Vanity Fair. "No one knows who I am."

As Barack Obama says, we are our brothers keepers. “Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers.” However, Barack Obama, after all, could not donate for his brother since he had donated $22,500.00 of his $4 million to Trinity Church and didn't have any left to spare. A church where the Reverend Wright espoused hatred of America for the 20 years Barack Obama attended. And he wonders why his wife wasn't proud of America. That's putting money where your mouth is.

Joe Biden's assertion that it is patriotic for the rich to pay taxes is a prelude to asking all citizens to step up and be patriotic. In accordance with the tax increase voted on by Barack Obama to increase taxes on everyone who makes $42,000 or more when the Bush tax cuts expire in 2011. The Tax deduction proposed for 95% of Americans is only a 'buy your vote' proposal. Something he learned from pork barrel politics to get votes from congressmen. Pad a bill with pork and you can get votes. The same philosophy is what he is using to get elected, tax deduction pork for voters to buy their vote for him. A Bill Clinton strategy.

Obama wants to buy votes with other peoples money. The successful people who have achieved the American Dream. To take the American Dream away from them, but not to give it to those who haven't achieved it yet. He wants to give them just enough to buy their vote, and make them dependent on the government and forget about the American Dream for themselves because he will have taken that option off the table.

No matter how hard you work, if you become successful, he will take that success away and spread it out in dollops to everyone else. His dream is to have everyone make the same amount and have the same benefits no matter how hard they work to be successful or get ahead.

The high school dropout drug addict will get as government handouts equal to the earnings of a person who worked nights to get through college and is working 80 hours a week running his small business employing 50 people. Not many people will work hard to get ahead if anything extra they make above a certain amount is to be taken away and given to others so they can have just as much for a lot less work. There will be no American Dream.

Barack Obama has a history of voting for tax increases and against tax cuts. During his time in state and national legislature he has voted 94 times for tax increases or against any tax cut. There will be no change in his desire to raise taxes and prevent tax cuts when he is elected.

With Bill Clinton advisers at his shoulder, he will follow Bill Clinton's lead. Bill Clinton promised tax cuts to get elected as well. A month after elected, in an economy that was already recovering nicely, he reneged on his promise to America. Although he said he had worked as hard as he could for his first month, he would not be able to deliver the tax cuts he had promised.

Barack Obama claims he will still reduce taxes. Even though we just had to spend $700 billion to buy the bad mortgages banks where forced to make by the Clinton changes to the Community Reinvestment Act that went into force in January 1995 that invented sub prime mortgages.

The economy in the nation is riding low and slow, something the democrats have been claiming as a recession although the real recession hasn't gotten here yet. Under these conditions, conditions worse than the ones that faced Bill Clinton, he will not be able to keep his promise to reduce taxes either.

When that time comes, a month after being elected, he will follow Bill Clinton's and Joe Biden's example. Barack Obama will declare to Americans that he can't deliver the promised tax cuts and pay them for voting for him. Instead he will need to increase taxes to pay for the universal health care plan and that the poor, the middle class, as well as the rich should be patriotic!
